Piloo says she was “happily married” to Ashish and lived a good married life until things started falling apart for the couple. She shared that Ashish never told her “you do this, and you don’t do this”, in fact she called her marriage with him democratic as there was “no pressure to fit in”. She also shared that leaving her job in radio to take care of their son Arth, and being a full-time mom were her choices. She said that once their son was 14, she got back to doing TV and slowly started doing films in 2018. Piloo also did a song with Jasleen Royal in Coke Studio. In an interview with The Times of India, Piloo said that she dedicated herself to married life ‘happily and out of choice’.
While Piloo has shared that her marriage with Ashish was fine, she also spoke about how he was never interested in her work, and even when she was acting, the two never worked together. She also revealed that he neither saw her interest in showbiz, nor did he he show interest in working together, but was always encouraging and supportive.
After Ashish and Piloo separated, he married Rupali Barua on May 25, this year and faced a backlash. Piloo said that many people, mainly women, question her on social media and claim that she’s lying and defending her ex-husband. “People question me, they think I’m defending him,” she said. Piloo said that she is not affected by the negativity, and she is “very happy” as she has “fulfilled” her duty as a parent. She said, “I have to tell people the truth that I am happy, I am an independent, free-minded artist.”
Ashish and Piloo continue to be in good terms and both of them are co-parenting their son. Ashish recently took to his social media to cheer for Piloo’s appearance in Akelli. Taking to Instagram story, Ashish had shared the film’s poster, along with which he wrote, “Best Wishes Piloo, Nushrratt and the entire team, the trailer looks smashing.”
